As a Network Engineer, your ability to solve problems and examine faults and issues with an analytical eye will be put to the test. The duties of a Network Engineer consist of designing, planning and implementing network infrastructure to suit the needs of the organisation. You will also be called upon to troubleshoot and diagnose issues on the network and create plans to remedy them, as well as implementing security measures and firewalls to protect your network. You will also be required to interface with users – such as the business’s clients or employees who use the network
|What skills do I need to have as a Network Engineer?|
A familiarity with network topographies is important, as well as the hardware and software necessary to run a network. The ability to plan and design a network, as well as installing it and setting it up, will also benefit you. It’s also important to be able to organise your tasks and effectively interface with team members.
