Frequently Asked Questions

Can I study the MCSE: Data Management and Analytics courses first?

Although you can study these courses first, you will not be able to write the exams to earn the certification until you have passed either the MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 or the MCSA SQL 2016 Database Administration exams as these are a prerequisite.

Will I need to recertify my MCSE: Data Management and Analytic qualification?

In the past Microsoft required MCSE holders to recertify every two to three years. This is now, however, no longer their requirement. Once you have passed your initial exam your certification will remain active without any further studying. There will be an optional annual re-certification programme which allows you to earn yearly badges to acknowledge that your skills are remaining up-to-date with recent developments.

Do I have to study all nine courses that are contained within this bundle?

While you have access to all nine (9) courses in this bundle, you are not required to study them all. You will need to complete either the MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 or the MCSA SQL 2016 Database Administration courses and pass the relevant exams in order to move on to the MCSE: Data Management and Analytic. This means, depending on your career requirements, you may study either the one, two, or all three qualification paths.
