Basics of HTML Elements and CSS Properties

In this webinar, Our Web & Software Development Tutor and Study Coach, Ian, provides beginners with an introduction to the basics of HTML and CSS. Ian delves into several fundamental topics related to HTML and CSS, including markup language basics, the basic structure of an HTML document, HTML elements, CSS properties, CSS class selectors, and id selectors.

Markup languages are used to insert symbols in a text document that control the formatting, structure, and relationships between different parts of the document. HTML, which stands for Hypertext Markup Language, is one such markup language that defines the structure of web pages.

Ian starts the webinar by going over the basics of HTML, explaining the purpose of each tag and their role in structuring web pages. He then proceeds to explain the different elements that make up an HTML document and their functions.

In addition to discussing HTML, Ian also explains the basics of CSS. CSS is used to style HTML documents and control how different elements are displayed on a web page. CSS properties are used to detail how browsers should display an element, while class selectors and id selectors are used to apply styles to elements that have specific class attributes or ids.

Throughout the webinar, Ian provides numerous examples and demonstrates how HTML and CSS can be used to create visually appealing web pages. He also emphasizes the importance of creating responsive web pages that adapt to different screen sizes and devices.

If you are looking to build a responsive portfolio website using basic HTML and CSS properties, ITonlinelearning offers a separate webinar titled “Build a Portfolio with Basic HTML & CSS.” This webinar provides step-by-step guidance on how to create a portfolio website using the basics covered in the introductory webinar.

Our webinar provides an excellent introduction to the basics of HTML and CSS for beginners. The webinar covers a wide range of fundamental topics, including the basics of markup languages, the structure of an HTML document, HTML elements, CSS properties, class selectors, and id selectors. Ian’s examples and step-by-step guidance make it easy for beginners to learn and apply the basics of HTML and CSS to create visually appealing and responsive web pages.
